Premier League side Newcastle United has reportedly shown keen interest in acquiring the services of Super Eagles winger Moses Simon. Scouts from Newcastle were in attendance during Simon’s recent performance for Nigeria against Serbia last week Tuesday in London, as well as during Gent’s 2-0 victory over Anderlecht in the Belgian Championship play-offs.
Belgian outlet HLN Sport revealed that Newcastle’s representatives closely observed Simon’s contributions on the field, further fueling speculation about a potential move to the Premier League. The 22-year-old winger, who expressed his interest in playing regularly in the English top flight, has just over a year left on his current contract with Gent.
Simon, who has found the net five times in 20 appearances for Gent this season, could become available in the summer transfer window. His performances on both the international and domestic fronts have drawn attention, making him a target for Newcastle as they explore options to bolster their squad.
As the summer transfer window approaches, the pursuit of Moses Simon by Newcastle United adds an intriguing dimension to the Premier League’s evolving transfer landscape, with the winger potentially making the move to the English top flight.
