Nigeria midfielder Alphonsus Ebuka joins AD Sao Paio SC on free transfer
Nigeria midfielder Alphonsus Ebuka has joined Portuguese club AD Sao Paio SC from Benatky n/Jiz on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old central midfielder has signed a contract running until 30 June 2027, beginning a new chapter after one season with the Czech club. Ebuka’s move was completed on 4 September 2026.
Ebuka made the switch to AD Sao Paio SC after spending the 2025-26 season at Benatky n/Jiz. He joined the Czech side from Kladno on 16 August 2025, having previously represented CF La Nucia B and Superstars FA.
The Abuja-born player is right-footed and operates primarily in central midfield. He had not made an appearance for Benatky n/Jiz during the new campaign before departing, with no appearances recorded in either the Czech Fotbalova Liga or the MOL Cup.
Ebuka’s career has included spells in Portugal and Spain, as well as time in the Czech Republic. He spent the 2020-21 season with FC Porto B on loan from Superstars FA, returning to his parent club at the end of that campaign. He also had a loan spell with CF La Nucia during the first half of the 2021-22 season before moving to Superstars FA.
He later completed a move to CF La Nucia B in July 2022 and remained there for two seasons before joining Kladno. His latest transfer takes him to AD Sao Paio SC, with the club becoming the fifth senior side he has joined since leaving Superstars FA.
The move gives Ebuka the opportunity to continue his career in Portugal, where he previously spent time with FC Porto B and CF La Nucia B. His new agreement keeps him at AD Sao Paio SC until the summer of 2027.
Ebuka has now completed his free transfer from Benatky n/Jiz to AD Sao Paio SC and is contracted to the Portuguese club until 30 June 2027.
