By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) has confirmed Nigeria as host of next U-17 boys Qualifiers in 2025.

The Zone confirmed this while releasing their schedule of tournaments set to take place this year.

The 2025 WAFU-B U-17 Boys Qualifiers is scheduled for September 11 to 25.

U-17 boys teams from Nigeria, Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and Niger Republic will participate in the tournament which will determine the zone representative at the next U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

This will be the first time that the country will be hosting continental or sub regional football competition since 2023.

In 2023, Benin City, Edo State capital hosted the WAFU-B Women’s Champions League Qualifiers.

Ampem Darkoa from Ghana won the tournament against Delta Queens (Nigeria).

Nigeria U-17 boys (Golden Eaglets) failed to qualify for the last U-17 AFCON despite a third place finish at the WAFU-B Qualifiers.

The record world champions hope to return to the continent through the next WAFU-B Qualifiers.
