NPFL: Ndifreke Effiong Joins Iraqi Club Newroz SC from Rivers United

Nigerian striker, Ndifreke Effiong, has completed a transfer to Newroz Sports Club, an Iraqi Football League team, following a successful move from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Rivers United.

The 26-year-old forward is no stranger to Middle Eastern football, having previously played for Al-Naft SC and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in Iraq.

Newroz SC has officially unveiled Effiong after passing the mandatory medical examination.

During his time with Rivers United, he made 14 league appearances, scoring four goals and contributing one assist.

Notably, Effiong was part of the Akwa United squad that clinched the 2021 NPFL title.

He has also previously played for Abia Warriors in Nigeria’s top-flight.
