NWFL Premiership: Obi Ogbala focusses on extending run against Confluence Queens

Following a resounding 4-1 victory over Abia Angels in the South East Derby, Heartland Queens’ head coach, Obi Ogbala, is already looking ahead to their next challenge against Confluence Queens.

The impressive win solidified Heartland’s position at the top of Group A in the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership.

The match in Aba saw Heartland Queens deliver a stellar performance, with Chinedu Chinaka’s brace and goals from Chimebere Opara and Mary Lucky securing a convincing victory.

Maintaining their unbeaten run, Heartland Queens are now preparing to face Confluence Queens in their upcoming fixture.

Speaking to journalists after the game, Coach Ogbala emphasized the importance of taking one match at a time and focusing on the next opponent.

He expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance and highlighted their determination to continue their unbeaten streak.

“The focus now shifts to Confluence Queens. We will analyze our performance in this game and build on the positives,” stated Coach Ogbala. “I am pleased with our unbeaten run, and we aim to maintain it moving forward.”

Reflecting on the derby win, Coach Ogbala expressed his delight at completing a double over their local rivals and praised his team’s execution of the game plan.

He emphasized the significance of securing maximum points and commended the players for their goal-scoring prowess.
