Head Coach of Sunshine Queens, Oladimeji Abimbola has attributed his side’s 2-0 defeat to Bayelsa Queens to momentary loss of focus in the Nigeria Women Football League, (NWFL) Premiership on Wednesday.
The Akure based side went down to two first half goals from an own goal by Sunshine Queens’ captain and simple tap in from Rose Ekong.
Blessing Illeveda could have make it three but her effort was chalked off for an offside.
Sunshine Queens grew better in the second half but were unable to stage a comeback as the hosts held on to their first half advantage.
Coach Abimbola who described the defeat as painful charged his players to shrug off the defeat and focus on subsequent games.
“We will go back to the drawing board to address  some loopholes discovered in the cause of this encounter against Bayelsa Queens,” Abimbola told the club’s media.
“We will get back to work immediately we get to our base in preparation for our home game against FC Robo next week Wednesday.”
Sunshine Stars will next take on FC Robo next Wednesday in Akure.
