Oghenekaro Etebo Set for Las Palmas Comeback Against Girona After Injury

Nigeria’s midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo is poised for a return to action with Spanish club Las Palmas in their imminent LaLiga clash against Girona, following a successful recovery from a recent muscle problem, reported by Completesportsnigeria.com.

Etebo, absent from Las Palmas’ previous weekend fixture against Eibar due to injury, is now primed to mark his comeback in the team’s final fixture of the season. He has been named in the 18-man squad set to face Girona at the Estadio de Gran Canaria this Saturday.

The former Warri Wolves player, currently on loan from Portuguese club CD Feirense, has notably appeared in 13 league fixtures for Las Palmas since his arrival in January, showcasing his instrumental role within the squad.

In a testament to his importance on the international stage, Etebo secured a spot in Nigeria’s 30-man provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, as announced by head coach Gernot Rohr earlier this week. His potential return to action for Las Palmas not only signifies his recovery but also serves as crucial preparation ahead of the highly anticipated global tournament.

However, Etebo’s Las Palmas teammate Ezekiel Imoh did not make the cut for the national team’s provisional squad, diverging from Etebo’s fortunes as they approach the climax of the season.

Etebo’s return is highly anticipated by both Las Palmas and Nigerian football enthusiasts, with hopes pinned on his contributions as he renews his role with the club and prepares for potential World Cup involvement with the Super Eagles.
