Orlando Pirates have officially entered the race to sign Nigerian forward Etiosa Ighodaro, intensifying competition for the in-demand striker following his standout season with AmaZulu FC.
The 24-year-old impressed during his loan stint from Mamelodi Sundowns, drawing interest from multiple clubs both locally and internationally.
In South Africa, Pirates now join Kaizer Chiefs, AmaZulu, and Sekhukhune United in pursuing the highly-rated attacker.
Interest in Ighodaro extends beyond the Premier Soccer League, with Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca and Russian Premier League side FC Baltika also reportedly keen on securing his services.
Pirates, looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season, have identified Ighodaro as a key target.
His consistent goal-scoring form and versatility in the final third have made him one of the most sought-after forwards on the South African market.
With the transfer window gaining momentum, the battle for Ighodaro’s signature is expected to intensify in the coming weeks.
