Rumour Mills: Beşiktaş eyes Osayi-Samuel as Fenerbahçe contract talks stall

Beşiktaş are monitoring Nigerian international Bright Osayi-Samuel amid a breakdown in contract negotiations between the defender and Fenerbahçe.

Osayi-Samuel’s current deal with Fenerbahçe expires at the end of June, and talks over an extension have reportedly stalled due to unmet salary demands.

The 26-year-old is seeking a new deal worth €3 million per year, a figure the club has so far been unwilling to meet.

With the impasse persisting, Beşiktaş have reportedly made their first approach to the player.

According to Turkish transfer expert Sercan Dikme, speaking to HT Spor, initial contact between Beşiktaş and Osayi-Samuel’s representatives has already taken place.

“Bright Osayi-Samuel and Beşiktaş had their first meeting, and it wasn’t too negative,” Dikme said, suggesting that negotiations could progress further.

Newly appointed Beşiktaş manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær is said to be keen on reinforcing his squad ahead of the new season, and the club appears ready to meet the defender’s wage expectations, potentially luring him away from their Super Lig rivals.

Osayi-Samuel has become a key figure in Fenerbahçe’s backline since joining in 2021 and remains a valued player under incoming manager José Mourinho.

However, unless a breakthrough is reached soon, the club risks losing him on a free transfer.
