Nigeria forward, Rasheedat Ajibade opened the scoring for Atletico Madrid in a 1-1 draw with Levante Las Planas in a Spanish Liga F encounter on Saturday.

The Super Falcons was handed her 11th start of the season and was aiming to add to her three-goal tally in Barcelona – a feat she managed to achieve at Las Planas.

In a promising start, Spain defender Xenia Perez set up Ajibade for the Atletico opener in the 32nd minute but her effort was enough to seal a win for the visitors at the Camp Municipal Les Planes, Sant Joan Despi.

Ten minutes to the end of the game, Moroccan forward, Anissa Lahmari equalised for hosts Levante.

Ajibade saw 85 minutes of action before the Nigerian was replaced by Ana Maria-Crnogorcevic.

The 24-year-old also received a yellow card in the 62nd minute after scoring her fourth goal in 15 games.

With the draw, the capital club occupy the second position on the league table with 30 points, nine points behind leaders, FC Barcelona.

The Catalan side has an outstanding match and can extend their lead over Athletico Madrid to 12 points.
