Nigeria striker Cyril Dessers registered his 12th goal of the season to help Rangers claimed a hard fought victory against St. Mirren in the Scottish Premier League encounter on Saturday.
The Super Eagles forward has been on a scintillating form with his goals pushing Gers to retain hope of wrestling the title with Celtic.
In a windy afternoon at Paisley, the visitors looked more sharper and determined to claim the match points and they did just that within 14 minutes into the encounter.
John Lundstram found Dessers in a better position who needed a bit of creativity to beat the keeper before rolling the ball to back of the net.
The 29-year-old striker was not initially a popular figure among the Rangers fans in his early months at Ibrox after his summer move from Cremonese.
However, Desser has slowly worked his way into the supporters’ good books, especially since the arrival of Philippe Clement as manager in October.
The crucial strike took his tally to the season to 12 and keeps the Light Blues in pursuit of the league leaders, Celtic with five points separating both sides though Rangers have a game at hand.
