Rinsola Babajide shines, Gift Monday increases goal tally as Tenerife beat Sevilla

Nigeria duo of Rinsola Babajide and Monday Gift were the heroine as they both scored to lift Spanish women’s top flight side, Costa Adeje Tenerife to a 2-0 win in a league encounter on Sunday.
The opener came in the ninth minute as a Sevilla player tried to clear a ball inside the box only for the ball to hit Babajide into the back of the net.
The two Nigerians combined for the second goal in the second half.
Babajide’s cross inside the box was headed home by Monday in the 56th minute.
The former Liverpool player was yellow carded in the 58th minute before she was replaced by Beatriz Beltran in the 75th minute.
She has scored six goals with three assists after 14 league games.
Monday on the other hand was substituted for Morocco’s Sakina Ouzraoui Diki in the 83rd minute after scoring her ninth goal.
She has also provided three assists in 15 league games for Costa Adeje Tenerife.
Costa Adeje Tenerife occupy the sixth position on the log with 26 points after 17 games so far.
They will face Ezekiel Motunrayo’s Valencia on February 9, 2025, in their next league game.
