Rumour Mills: Atletico Madrid shortlist Wilfred Ndidi in summer transfer wish list

Spanish La Liga side, Atletico Madrid, have reportedly identified Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as one of their top targets for the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Nigeriafootball.ng.

Ndidi, the Super Eagles’ vice-captain, has attracted interest from several top European clubs in recent months.

While he was the subject of transfer rumors last January, Leicester City rejected offers for the 28-year-old.

Now, Atletico Madrid is keen to secure his services when the transfer market reopens.

Sources indicate that Real Betis and French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco are also monitoring Ndidi, further intensifying the competition for his signature.

The midfielder, who joined Leicester City in 2016, recently returned from a two-month injury layoff.

Ndidi signed a new three-year contract with the Foxes last summer, which could complicate any potential move.

However, with continued interest from top clubs, his future at Leicester remains uncertain.
