“The best ever” — Victor Boniface hails Victor Osimhen after Galatasaray’s title win

By Monsurah Olatunji

Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has hailed fellow Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen as “the best ever” following Osimhen’s instrumental role in Galatasaray’s 2024/25 Turkish Süper Lig title-winning campaign.

Osimhen capped off a record-breaking season by scoring his 36th goal in all competitions during Galatasaray’s decisive 3-0 win over Kayserispor at Rams Park.

The result secured the club’s 25th league title and a domestic double, making Galatasaray the most decorated team in Turkish football history and the first to earn the right to display a fifth star on their badge.

Boniface, who has frequently supported Osimhen throughout the season, joined the wave of tributes by sharing a celebratory photo of Osimhen cradling his daughter, Hailey, during the trophy celebrations. His accompanying caption read simply: “The best, ever.”

Osimhen’s performance has drawn widespread acclaim. According to data from Opta, he is now only the third foreign player in Galatasaray’s history to score at least 25 league goals in a single campaign, joining Bafétimbi Gomis (2017–18) and Mauro Icardi (2023–24).

With 25 goals in just 29 Süper Lig appearances, the 25-year-old Nigerian also leads the Golden Boot race with two matches remaining.

Osimhen’s record-breaking season and the emotional scenes of celebration—punctuated by his daughter announcing his goal over the stadium loudspeakers—have made his triumph one of the most memorable in recent Turkish football history.
