Transfer News: AS Roma Indicates Interest in Nigerian Defender Ola Aina

By Wale Mustapha

Italian Serie A side AS Roma has reportedly expressed interest in signing Nigerian defender Ola Aina, according to Nigeriafootball.ng.

Aina, who is in the final six months of his contract with English Premier League side Nottingham Forest, has caught the attention of the Giallorossi, with sources indicating that they have already made contact with Aina’s representatives, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 27-year-old right-back has been in superb form for Forest this season, featuring in all 20 of their league games so far. His standout performances earned him Forest’s Player of the Month award for December, and he also claimed the club’s Goal of the Month prize.

In addition to AS Roma’s interest, reigning Premier League champions Manchester City and Turkish side Galatasaray are also reportedly monitoring Aina’s situation as he approaches the end of his contract.

With the January transfer window open, Aina could be on the move soon, as clubs across Europe show keen interest in the Super Eagles international.
