Victor Osimhen transfer news: Man Utd weigh major move for Galatasaray and Nigeria star striker

Victor Osimhen, the Nigeria centre-forward currently at Galatasaray, is being strongly linked with a move to Manchester United as the Premier League club step up plans to reinforce their attack. The 27-year-old, valued at around €75m, is understood to be high on United’s shortlist, with the likelihood of a deal currently rated at 65%.

Osimhen has emerged as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards in recent seasons and would command a significant fee, not least because he is under contract at Galatasaray until June 2029. Any negotiations are therefore expected to be complex, with the Turkish champions in a strong position to demand a premium for their leading scorer.

Since joining Galatasaray in July 2025, the Lagos-born striker has been central to a dominant period for the Istanbul club, winning back-to-back Turkish league titles and the Turkish Cup. He finished as top scorer in the 2024-25 Super Lig season with 31 goals, underlining the level of firepower that has attracted United’s attention.

Osimhen’s reputation was already firmly established before his move to Turkey. He was named African Footballer of the Year in 2023 after helping Napoli to the Serie A title in 2022-23, where he was also crowned striker of the year and the league’s leading scorer with 26 goals.

Galatasaray are expected to resist any approaches unless an offer reflects Osimhen’s status as their key attacking figure and a player still near his peak with three years remaining on his deal.
