FC Midtjylland sign Nigerian midfield prospect Hassan Kashietu from FC Ebedei

Danish Superliga club FC Midtjylland have confirmed the signing of highly-rated Nigerian midfielder Hassan Momodu Kashietu from their long-time partner club, FC Ebedei.

The announcement was made on the club’s official website, with the 18-year-old set to begin his European journey in Midtjylland’s U-19 squad as he continues his development.

Kashietu arrives with a growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s promising young midfield talents. A physically imposing player, he is renowned for his aggressive pressing, ability to win one-on-one duels and intelligence in reading the game.

The teenager’s anticipation, positional awareness and relentless work rate make him an effective ball-winner, while his timing and movement enable him to influence play at both ends of the pitch.

Speaking after completing the move, Kashietu described the transfer as a dream come true and an important milestone in his budding career.

“I’m very happy to be here. It’s a dream for me and I’m really proud of myself. It’s big and a milestone, so I’m looking forward to getting started.

“I hope that during my time here at FC Midtjylland I can play in the first team. I believe that I will get some really good experiences, learn a lot and develop as a person and as a player.

“I’m looking forward to getting started, and I’m looking forward to getting to know the others. It’s an exciting step in my career,” he said.

The move continues the successful relationship between FC Midtjylland and FC Ebedei, a partnership that has produced several Nigerian internationals over the years.

Super Eagles midfielders Femi Ajilore, Izunna Uzochukwu, Frank Onyeka, and Raphael Onyedika all followed the same pathway from FC Ebedei to Midtjylland before establishing themselves in European football and earning senior national team call-ups.

Kashietu will now be hoping to emulate that impressive lineage by progressing through Midtjylland’s renowned youth system, breaking into the first team and eventually following his predecessors onto the international stage with Nigeria.
