Wafu-B Champions League Qualifiers: Moses Aduku reveals secret to Hasaacas win

By Saheed Afolabi

Edo Queens head coach, Moses Aduku has disclosed the secret of his side 3-0 smashing of Ghanaian side, Hasaacas Ladies in the Wafu B Champions League Qualifiers in Bouake, Ivory Coast.

A brace from inform striker, Emem Essien and a curling strike from skipper, Suliat Abideen secured six points from two game for the Benin Ladies.

Aduku said, he expected a tough first half between both sides and took advantage of the loopholes from their opponents to win the game.

“I think, I expected what I saw in the first half, because definitely Nigeria, Ghana is a local derby I was privileged to play in some years ago at the U20 level,” Aduku told media.

“It was difficult and we lost to Ghana 1-0. After the first half, I studied the game and i saw some loopholes. I talked to my girls that we should capitalize on those loopholes. We got the chances and we took it but it wasn’t a bad game for the two teams.”

He admitted his side changed their crossing pattern in the second half to a low cross which became effective in converting chances.

“I think in the first half, the defenders of the Hasaacas Ladies were good in the air, so one of the things I did was, I asked my team to put the ball on the ground and they obeyed the instructions and the goals came from the flanks. The strikers were very on and scored the goals.”
