“We needed to win”: Osimhen hails teammates after Galatasaray win vs Fenerbahçe

By Dayo Awoniyi

Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has praised his Galatasaray teammates for their resilience and determination in securing a hard-fought 2-1 win over Fenerbahçe in the Turkish Cup.

The victory was a crucial bounce-back for Galatasaray, who had seen their 27-game unbeaten streak in the league ended by Beşiktaş in their previous match.

Osimhen, who scored a brace within the first 27 minutes, acknowledged the difficulty of the game and the hostile reception from the home crowd.

Despite the pressure, he commended his teammates for their ability to silence the crowd and secure a vital win.

“It was a difficult game, and the fans were unhappy after our previous loss,” Osimhen said in his post-match interview.

“But my teammates showed great character and determination to bounce back with a crucial victory. We needed to win, and we did.”

The Nigerian striker’s clinical performance played a key role in helping Galatasaray regain confidence and put their recent setback behind them, as they continue their pursuit of silverware in both domestic and continental competitions.
