Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has expressed Fulham’s strong determination to secure a European spot in this season’s Premier League.
The team has been in exceptional form, remaining unbeaten in their last seven games, which includes a notable victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and a hard-fought draw against Liverpool at Anfield.
Despite having not finished higher than 10th in the Premier League since the 2011/12 season, Fulham currently sit in eighth place, just six points behind the Champions League qualification spots.
Iwobi, one of the team’s most influential players, has been pivotal in several key moments, whether operating in midfield or on the flanks.
“We have the players, and I haven’t played in Europe in a long time, so it’s a dream I want to achieve again,” Iwobi told BBC. “We’re not scared of no one. We’re confident that we can compete against anyone and take three points. The sky’s the limit.”
The 28-year-old midfielder has been a constant presence for Fulham this season, contributing either a goal or an assist against seven different teams, including Leicester City, Newcastle United, Everton, Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur, and Brighton & Hove.
With their current momentum, Iwobi and Fulham are determined to remain in the hunt for European qualification as the season progresses.
