2027 U-23 AFCONQ: Ugandan referee Joshua appointed for DR Congo-Nigeria first leg

Ugandan referee Duula Joshua will officiate the first leg of Nigeria’s 2027 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifying tie against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The second-round match will be played at the TP Mazembe Stadium in Lubumbashi on Friday, November 13.
Joshua’s compatriot Brianson Musisi has been named first assistant referee, while Katerega Ashiraf will serve as the second assistant.
William Oloya, also from Uganda, has been appointed as the fourth official for the encounter.
The Confederation of African Football has selected Central African Republic officials Jean Marie Koyakobo and Alain Brice Letokouzou for the other key matchday roles. Koyakobo will act as match commissioner, with Letokouzou appointed referee assessor.
Nigeria’s Olympic Eagles will host the return leg at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne on Tuesday, November 17.
The two matches will determine which side progresses from the second round of the 2027 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The appointments come as the Olympic Eagles prepare for their meeting with the Democratic Republic of Congo, with the opening fixture set to take place away from home before the tie concludes in Nigeria.
