Afcon 2023: Nigeria amongst teams with over 100 Africa Cup of Nations goals

Ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the list of teams that have scored 100 or more goals at the tournament.
They include Egypt, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Cameroon, and Ghana, with the North African topping the list of top-scoring teams at the AFCON with a total number of 168 all-time goals.
Hosts Ivory Coast are the national side with the second-highest number of goals at the competition since its inception in 1957 after scoring a total of 143 goals.
The Super Eagles are tied in the third position with 137 goals, the same number of goals as the Indomitable Lions.
Ghana’s Black Stars with 133 goals complete the number of teams that has scored 100 or more goals at the AFCON.
Two North African teams; Tunisia and Algeria can join the teams depending on the number of goals scored at AFCON 2023.
The Carthage Eagles has scored 99 goals with one more to join the club of 100 while Algeria has converted 94 goals so far at the AFCON.
