Wafu-B Champions League: Aduku upbeat about Edo Queens semifinal chances

By Saheed Afolabi
Edo Queens head coach, Moses Aduku is optimistic about the club’s chances when they take on their semifinal opponent, Inter D’Abidjan on Tuesday.
Aduku played down any mind games from both sides because he believes the both teams would have studied each other in the group stage while not eliminating the factor of strategizing before the encounter.
“Before knowing anything about our next opponent, all of us have played three group games,” Aduku said at the post match press conference.
“We have watched each other and we go back to the drawing board to strategize and get set for the semifinal. I don’t count every game together. We have one game now and it’s against the host team. We will go back and prepare for the semifinal game.”
The gaffer explained why the Benin Ladies couldn’t score more goals in their last group game despite having series of chances.
“The first thing is we have scored and we don’t need to force ourselves for injury sake because we have already qualified and just need to play strategically for the win.
“The last game was an opportunity to test the other players and it’s expected from every team and I believe every player came here to play. The players weren’t disappointed at all and one of them was the player of the game.”
Edo Queens have scored nine goals in three games while they remain the only team who are yet to concede a goal in the regional showpiece.
