By Saheed Afolabi

Nigeria National League side Sokoto United have announced the imminent capture of Philimon Bitrus and David Igoche from non-league sides Greenberet FC and Zema FC, respectively.

Both players have signed two-year contracts with the club. Bitrus, a skilled central defender, and Igoche, a talented left-back, were described by Sokoto United as exceptional talents who will be valuable additions to the team.

The club expressed enthusiasm about their new signings and looks forward to their contributions in the upcoming season.

“Sokoto United FC is delighted to announce the signing of two exceptional players,” the club shared on their official X handle.

“Philimon Bitrus, a skilled central defender, joins us from Greenberet FC on a 2-year contract. David Igoche, a talented left-back, signs from Zema FC of Benue State.”

“We welcome both players to the Sokoto United FC family and look forward to their valuable contributions to the team’s success,” the club added.

Sokoto United, who narrowly missed promotion to the NPFL last season after a disappointing finish in the NNL Super Eight, have also announced a change in their coaching staff.

Peter Ajeni has been appointed as the new head coach, replacing the former manager, Abdullahi Mansoor.
