Sporting Lagos Clinch 2026 NNL Super Four Title After Thrilling Final Day

Sporting Lagos emerged champions of the 2026 NNL Super Four after edging city rivals Inter Lagos on goal difference following a dramatic conclusion at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo.

Heading into the final round of fixtures, Sporting Lagos required only a draw to secure the crown. However, the “Noisy Lagosians” suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Inter Lagos in a fiercely contested Lagos derby. Despite the setback, Sporting’s dominant performances in earlier matches were enough to seal the title.

Sporting Lagos finished the tournament with six points from three matches. They began their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Ranchers Bees before producing a commanding 4-0 win against Doma United on Matchday 2.

Inter Lagos also ended the competition on six points after recording a 1-0 defeat to Doma United, a 1-0 win over Ranchers Bees, and the decisive derby victory over Sporting Lagos. Nevertheless, Sporting’s superior goal difference handed them the championship and the ₦10 million prize prize attached to the title.

Ranchers Bees claimed third place, while Doma United settled for fourth, as all four clubs confirmed their places in the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The triumph marks another major milestone for Sporting Lagos, underlining the club’s impressive rise since its establishment and highlighting its ambition ahead of life in the top flight. Inter Lagos, Ranchers Bees, and Doma United also leave the competition encouraged as they prepare for the upcoming NPFL campaign.

The final day of action in Ikenne showcased the intensity and competitiveness of the NNL Super Four, offering fans a glimpse of the excitement expected from Nigeria’s newest top-flight sides next season.
