NPFL: Akwa United boss remains unshaken about Abia Warriors showdown

By Saheed Afolabi
Akwa United head coach Muhammad Babaganaru is maintaining a positive outlook as his team prepares for their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash against Abia Warriors on Sunday.
The match, set to be Akwa United’s first home game of the season, is seen as a crucial opportunity for the team to secure their first victory on their own turf.
Following a commendable start to the season with an away draw against Lobi Stars in Lafia, Babaganaru is focused on capitalizing on this momentum. Despite acknowledging the challenges posed by Abia Warriors, he is determined that his side will concentrate fully on securing a win.
“The game against Abia Warriors will be our first home match of the season, and we know it will be a tough game,” Babaganaru said. “But we are committed and ready to fight for all three points because this is a must-win game for us. We have to build on the point we earned in Lafia and ensure we secure a win on Sunday.”
Babaganaru emphasized the importance of starting the season strongly and not leaving any opportunities unexplored. “As we begin this season, we don’t have to leave any stone unturned. We need to hit the ground running from the blast of the whistle,” he added.
The coach expressed confidence in his technical staff and players, noting that the team has prepared thoroughly. “We have done a lot of work with the team, and we trust that the boys understand the importance of starting well. We are optimistic that my players will be in top shape to deliver a strong performance on Sunday.”
With high stakes and a determined mindset, Akwa United aims to make a strong statement in their first home game and secure the three points against Abia Warriors.
