Mavlon FC touchdown Croatia to represent Nigeria at Olea Cup

Modest Nigerian club side, Mavlon FC have arrived Novaljia in Croatia to participate in this year’s Olea Cup U17 football tournament. 

The Abuja based club will making history as it will be their first appearance at the tournament as well as first for any Nigerian team. 

They have been paired in Group A alongside other notable U17 youth teams including GNK Dinamo, NK Istra and FK DAC 1904.

Led by Simon Cletus who is also the captain of Nigeria U17 boys national team, Mavlon will open the tournament with a game against NK Istra 1961 on Tuesday. 

The subsequent games will be against GNK Dinamo and FK DAC 1904, all at the same football pitch of Hotel Olea in Novaljia. 

Mavlon will be supported by two of their former products in Salim Fago Lawal and Israel Ayuma, who are now plying their trades with NK Istra of Croatia.

This is the fourth edition of the Olea Cup with over 15 youth clubs participating in it.
