Bayelsa United’s Technical Adviser, Issa Ladan Bosso, has appealed for more patience and continued support as he works on building a stronger team following their 1-0 victory over Rivers United on Sunday in Port Harcourt.

Bosso, who had been handed a two-match ultimatum after Bayelsa United’s disappointing performance against Enyimba last week, was pleased with his team’s response to the pressure.

The Restoration Boys’ triumph over Rivers United was a significant morale booster, showcasing the team’s potential, especially with the inclusion of several young players.

Speaking after the match, Bosso expressed his gratitude to the Bayelsa state government and fans for their understanding and support. He also assured that the team is a “work in progress” and that their performance will continue to improve.

“We will continue to do our best for the team. Before and after the match, the Commissioner for Sports called me and encouraged me, assuring me they would bear with us,” Bosso said.

“He has seen the progress we are making, and we want our fans to be patient with the team. This is a youthful team, and that helped us in the win over Rivers United. Bayelsa United is a work in progress, and we will continue to work hard to get things right.”

Bosso is now looking to build on this vital victory and consolidate Bayelsa United’s position in the league. They will next host Katsina United in Yenagoa, where the coach hopes to keep up the momentum and further strengthen the team’s cohesion.

The win over Rivers United has given Bayelsa United a confidence boost, and Bosso will be hoping to continue improving as the season progresses.
