Victor Osimhen hints at Galatasaray stay, says future decision will come after season

By Wale Mustapha

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has revealed that he will decide his long-term future at the end of the season, as speculation continues to mount over a potential permanent move away from Napoli.

The Nigerian international, currently on loan from the Italian club, joined the Turkish champions last September and has quickly become a key figure under head coach Okan Buruk. He has been instrumental in Galatasaray’s campaign, netting 29 goals and providing five assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.

Despite reported interest from several English Premier League clubs, Galatasaray are believed to be keen on securing Osimhen’s services on a permanent basis. The 25-year-old, however, says he is focused solely on helping the team win their third consecutive Turkish Super Lig title.

“There are always rumours about me, of course. But I prefer to live in the moment. I am enjoying myself right now. I am enjoying both the club and my life here,” Osimhen told Galatasaray’s official website.

“The fans have also been incredibly supportive since the first day. All stakeholders within Galatasaray—everyone has helped me. They’ve always been there for me, not just me, but also my friends and family.

“Now I will fight for the fifth star with my team, and a decision will be made at the end of the season about what will be best for everyone. Galatasaray will forever be in my heart.”

Osimhen’s current loan deal is set to expire in June, with his future expected to be one of the headline transfer stories of the upcoming summer window.
