Liverpool consider swap deal for Osimhen involving Núñez and Chiesa

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

Premier League champions Liverpool are reportedly preparing a high-profile swap deal to land Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli, with Darwin Núñez and Federico Chiesa potentially heading the other way.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool have become the latest club to express strong interest in the 26-year-old Super Eagles forward, joining a growing list of European and Saudi Arabian suitors.

The proposed deal would see underperforming striker Núñez included alongside Italian winger Federico Chiesa, who has also been linked with a move away from Juventus this summer.

Chiesa’s involvement suggests a broader multi-club arrangement may be on the table.

Osimhen remains one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards after a standout 2024/25 campaign, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances.

He played a key role in Galatasaray’s domestic double under manager Okan Buruk, winning both the Turkish Süper Lig and the Turkish Cup.

New Liverpool manager Arne Slot is actively reshaping the squad, having already secured the signing of right-back Jeremie Frimpong.

The club is also reportedly close to deals for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz and Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez.

While no official offer has yet been submitted to Napoli, the swap deal is believed to be under serious consideration as Liverpool explore all avenues to secure Osimhen’s signature.

Further developments are expected in the coming weeks, with Saudi clubs also maintaining strong interest in the Nigerian international.
