Bayelsa Queens and Police Ladies rekindle Nigeria, Ghana rivalry in WAFU-B Women’s Champions League

Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership winners, Bayelsa Queens will face Police Ladies from Ghana in Group B of the 2025 West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League Qualifiers.

The draw for the fifth edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers was conducted in Cote D’Ivoire on Thursday.

The Nigerian and Ghanaian women’s League winners are up against ASKO (Togo) and Sam Nelly (Benin Republic).

Group A houses host, Asec Mimosa (Cote D’Ivoire), AS Garde Nationale (Niger Republic), and USFA (Burkina Faso).

Nigerian champions have made to all previous finals, winning two out of the grand finale.

Bayelsa Queens and Edo Queens emerged as winners in 2022 and 2024 while Rivers Angels and Delta Queens faltered in 2021 and 2023 respectively.

The Property Girls are the first Nigerian team to participate in the tournament twice.

They are also the only past winners taking part in this year’s edition.
