Rasheedat Ajibade: 2024 Wafcon Player of the Tournament joins compatriot Jennifer Echegini at Paris Saint Germain

Nigeria captain, Rasheedat Ajibade has officially joined French side, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) ahead of 2025/26 season.

The Super Falcons forward completed a move to the French capital outfit after the expiration of her contract with Spanish Liga F side, Atletico Madrid, a team where she spent five seasons.

She signed a two year deal with the capital Cub which will ensure her contractual obligations to the team till 2027.

The 25-year-old player scored over 30 League goals for Atletico Madrid in those seasons.

Ajibade joined the Spanish team in 2021 after two seasons with Norwegian outfit, Avaldnes.

Before Avaldnes and Atletico Madrid, Ajibade featured for FC Robo Queens in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.

Fresh from leading the Super Falcons to 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco, the “girl with blue hair” will team up with compatriot and fellow WAFCON winner, Jennifer Echegini at PSG.

Notably, Echegini scored the winner in the WAFCON 2024 final against host, Morocco as Nigeria edged the North Africans 3-2.

The duo add up to number of Nigerian players in the French women’s top flight after Montpellier’s Ifeoma Onumonu who was also part of WAFCON 2024 winning squad.
