BUA Group Chairman Pledges .5m Bonus to Super Eagles After Algeria Win

Chairman of BUA Group, Alhaji Abdulsalam Rabiu has congratulated Nigeria’s senior men’s national team following their impressive 2-0 victory over Algeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, announcing a major financial incentive to motivate the team ahead of the semi-finals and potential final.

In a goodwill message released after the quarter-final triumph, the business mogul praised the players for lifting the nation’s spirit with their performance and reaffirmed his support for the team as they chase a fourth AFCON title.

“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria! You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals,” the statement read.

To further motivate the team, the BUA Group owner pledged a bonus of USD $500,000 to the players should they win their semi-final match, with an additional USD $50,000 for every goal scored in that game.

He also revealed an even bigger reward if Nigeria go on to lift the trophy, promising USD $1,000,000 for winning the final, alongside USD $100,000 for each goal scored in the championship match.

“Wishing you continued success as you carry Nigeria forward. Keep making Nigeria proud. Proudly Nigerian,” he concluded.

The Super Eagles will face host nation Morocco in the semi-finals on Wednesday, with the newly announced incentives adding extra motivation as Nigeria edges closer to continental glory at AFCON 2025.
