Femi Azeez has set his sights on playing in the Premier League after marking his debut for the Nigeria national football team with a sensational brace in the team’s 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe national football team to reach the Unity Cup final.
The 24-year-old winger, who was deployed in the role usually occupied by Ademola Lookman, continued the impressive form he displayed for Millwall F.C. during the 2025/26 season.
Azeez registered 19 goal contributions in 35 Championship appearances, earning a place in the Championship Team of the Season and securing his first senior international call-up.
Reflecting on his breakthrough campaign and immediate impact with Nigeria, Azeez told Sky Sports: “I had a good season in the Championship and obviously, to do it on the international stage as well was just that next step up.
“Whenever I achieve something, I’m always hungry for more. I’m never satisfied with what I’ve got.
“I’m always going to work towards that next level because I’m ambitious as a footballer and as a person, and I want to reach as high of a level as possible.”
The forward made no secret of his ultimate ambition, adding:”The Premier League is obviously the pinnacle of football. I’d love to play in the Premier League. So obviously, working hard, I’m going to do whatever I can to get there.”
Having joined Millwall from Reading F.C. in 2024, Azeez remains under contract until 2028. His recent performances for both club and country are expected to attract interest from top-flight clubs as the summer transfer window approaches.
