NFF Charges Super Falcons to Defend WAFCON Title, Secure World Cup Spot

The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has applauded the decision by the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the NFF to establish a Welfare Committee for the senior women’s national team ahead of the 14th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled to take place in Morocco from July 26 to August 16, 2026.

The committee described the initiative as a significant step toward enhancing the welfare and overall performance of the Super Falcons as they prepare for the continental tournament.

The NFF Executive Committee also urged the Super Falcons to give their best on the pitch by making Nigeria proud.

It tasked the nine-time African champions with securing qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil while successfully defending their WAFCON crown and extending their record with an 11th continental title.
