Plateau United’s Okiemute Odah urges team to build on 4-0 Kano Pillars win

Plateau United goalkeeper Okiemute Odah has called on his team-mates to maintain their strong run after their emphatic 4-0 victory over Kano Pillars in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The result at the New Jos Stadium gave Plateau United a convincing win and ended Kano Pillars’ unbeaten start to the season.
Paul Samson opened the scoring before Ekundayo Ojo added a second goal in the first half, leaving the hosts in control at the interval. Samuel Ayanrinde and Nenrot Silas struck after the break to complete a dominant performance by the Peace Boys.
Odah said the victory would only be valuable if Plateau United could reproduce that level of performance and continue collecting points during the campaign.
“I want to thank my teammates and the coaches because it’s a collective effort. The result against Kano Pillars is good for us, and if we continue like this, we will do even better,” Odah told Plateau United’s media.
The goalkeeper also appealed to the club’s supporters to remain behind the team as they attempt to maintain their progress.
“I want to urge the fans to keep supporting us so that we can do it, and we will make them proud.”
Plateau United are managed by Gbenga Ogunbote and currently occupy third place in the NPFL table, having taken 14 points from their opening eight matches.
Their next challenge comes on Sunday, when they host Sporting Lagos as they seek to extend their winning run in the league.
