Al Ahli allow Al-Diriyah to train at their Jeddah base before Al Ittihad clash

Al Ahli have offered Al-Diriyah important logistical support before their Saudi Pro League meeting with Al Ittihad on Friday.

Al-Diriyah’s first team have been given permission to hold their final training session at Al Ahli’s ground on Thursday, ahead of the 11th-round fixture at Alinma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City, Jeddah.

The arrangement was confirmed by a source quoted by Saudi newspaper Al Riyadiya, which reported that Al Ahli’s management had approved the request from their fellow Saudi club.

Al-Diriyah’s squad travelled to Jeddah early to gain additional preparation time for the match. The capital club had preferred to remain in the city and complete their final session there rather than train elsewhere.

Manager Bruno Lage will use Thursday’s workout to finalise his approach for the game. The Portuguese coach is relying on eight foreign players in his squad, including Algeria international Adel Bulbina, Uruguay forward Darwin Nunez and France midfielder Enzo Millot.

Al-Diriyah go into the match after a 1-0 victory over Al Riyadh in their previous game. Spanish midfielder Oscar Rodriguez scored the only goal, a result which lifted the side to seventh place in the Saudi Pro League with 15 points.

They are level with Al Ettifaq on points but sit above them on goal difference.
