Jose Peseiro assures Nigerians of Super Eagles’ qualification to 2026 World Cup

Nigeria men’s national team coach Jose Peseiro has assured Nigerians that the country will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The biggest international football competition will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico and Super Eagles missed out on the 2022 FIFA World Cup hosted by Qatar after losing the playoffs to Black Stars of Ghana.
Nigerians are still lamenting over the Super Eagles missing out in what many have termed, a World Cup that will go down as one of the most talked about and controversial in history.
Qatar 2022 World Cup has however lived up to the billings, as eight stadiums in use for the first time for the mundial.
Peseiro who is in Qatar since the start of the knockout phase did assure a Nigerians that the Super Eagles will do all necessary to be part of the 2026 showpiece.
According to a Nigerian football fan who posted on his Twitter page, he said, “Met Super Eagles coach @JosePeseiro at the Cameroon game. He said we’re playing the next World Cup
.”

The Portuguese coach also tipped the Netherlands as contenders for the trophy after their thrilling 3-1 win over the United States.
According to him, “Fair win for the Netherlands and a good response by the USA. Great play by the Dutch in the first goal.
‘Great presence by American fans in the stadium and big progress by USA. The Netherlands proved to be contenders for the world title.”
The Super Eagles manager also witnessed the Sunday’s Round of 16 games involving France vs Poland and England vs Senegal.
