Taiwo Awoniyi upbeat about Nottingham Forest’s Premier League survival

Man-of-the-Match in Nottingham Forest’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea at the City Ground on Sunday, Taiwo Awoniyi has expressed confidence that side his will continue to strife to retain life in the Premier League.
Awoniyi put up a stellar performance as Forest rallied to share spoils against Chelsea which also earned him the best Player-of-the-Match. Chelsea started the game well dominated the proceedings which earned them an early lead scored by Raheem Sterling.
Nottingham Forest grew into the game in the second half and were rewarded with the breakthrough in the 63rd minute through a fine strike from Serge Aurier.
While Super Eagles striker was excited about the award, the 25 year old former Union Berlin forward however retained hope that his side will continue to bring out positives results to see them retain life in the English top flight.
“Thankful to have gotten my first ever premier league MOTM award,” he said.
“However, I am also disappointed a spirited performance from the team didn’t end with three points. We keep pushing.”
Next up for the Nottingham Forest is a fixture at St. Mary’s against Southampton where Awoniyi is expected to produce another masterclass and push his side to victory.
