Kabiru Dogo gives reasons for Wikki Tourists resignation

By Saheed Afolabi
Wikki Tourists head coach Kabiru Dogo surprisingly resigned from his position as the head coach of the club.
Dogo has been under intensed pressure due the team’s poor run of form, having failed to record a win in four games and the experienced tactician threw in the towel following a two-match ultimatum set by the management.
Following resignination, the former Lobi Stars gaffer has blamed his unexpected exit on lack of respect from the club authorities, while appreciating the state governor, religious leaders and fans for their support during his spell.
“Please accept this letter as a formal notice of my resignation as Technical Adviser/Head Coach of Wikki Tourists effect from 31st of January 2023,” Dogo told Nigeriafootball.ng.
“I also wish to state here for a record purpose and for the club, the fans and other stakeholders of the club that at no time was I issued an ultimatum by the club management. I only got to learn about such information from the social media and other third parties and for this reason amongst other reasons.
“Also, the club claimed of given me two-match ultimatum starting from next away game to River United FC Port Harcourt in week five of NPFL, that will come up on 1st of February 2023 and yet or refused to be included in the budget to defend the ultimatum.
“However, on issues of players for Rivers United match was not from me technical adviser of the team despite the sad “ultimate” you gave for this reason amongst others which I would not like to dwell on, I tender my resignation letter to the club.
“I wish to sincerely thank you for the opportunity you provided me to work with the club especially the executive governor of the state His Excellency Senator Bala Muhammed (Kaura Bauchi), the entire management, staff of Wikki Tourists and fans of the club all the very best in your endeavors now and in the future.
“I also appreciate support of Emir of Bauchi, Chief Imam of Bauchi, Sheik Dahiru Bauchi and Bauchi FA, Bauchi State referee council, Swan and all the fans and stakeholders in Bauchi state.”
