By Monsurah Olatunji

Former Nigeria international and African legend, Perpetua Nkwocha has been invited by the world football governing body for the 2023 Best FIFA Football Awards™, which will take place at Sall Pleyel in Paris on 27 February 2023.
The four-time African Women’s Player of the Year winner who scored 80 goals for Nigeria will be amongst the greatest names in football that will be attending the show, where the best will be crowned for tremendous year 2022.
Nkwocha won back-to-back awards in 2004 and 2005 before repeating the feat in 2010 and 2011, played in seven editions of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) winning five titles with the Super Falcons.
Wowing crowds with her ability to weave through defenders and her deadly eye for goal, Nkwocha is regarded as a legend of the game of football who excelled in her career.
The Best awards is an annual occasion to honour the best players, coaches and fans who have enthralled us over the last season with their breathtaking skills and moments of high drama.
This year’s ceremony will take on a special significance as it will be held the wake of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, which gave us so many memories to cherish and proved that football is a truly global sport.
The FIFA event will be her second in the last six months after her appearances at the FIFA Women’s World Cup draw last October in Switzerland and FIFA World Cup in Qatar last November.
