Enugu Rangers scribe Ugwuarua upbeat about NPFL second stanza revival

Barrister Ferdinand Ugwuarua, Enugu Rangers secretary believes the outfit will record a huge turnaround in the second round ahead of the State Federation Cup and Nigeria Premier Football League resumption.
The Flying Antelopes made a return to training on Thursday under the watch of coach Mbwas Mangut as the club’s seek to improve upon their poor form in the first stanza, having finished seventh with nine points from eight ties.
Before the NPFL restart, the Enugu based outfit will aim to excel in the state FA Cup and the club’s scribe is eager to see his side hit the ground running in the remaining part of the season.
“I must say a very big thanks to God almighty for journey mercies granted to those who traveled for the general elections,” Ugwuarua told the club media.
“Let me also thank those that stayed back and continued training for the great task that we have on our hands. I charge you all to come up with your best on and off the pitch to help us achieve our set target for the season which is qualifying for the super-six and picking a continental ticket.
“It may look daunting with our present placement but with the ‘Never Say Die’ attitude that we are known for, we surely, shall turn the difficult tide with commitment and determination from all of us.”
Twenty-nine players trained, Thursday, just as others are expected to join by Friday’s session while efforts are on to get some fresh quality legs to join efforts with the current squad to push for a strong finish in the abridged 2022/2023 NPFL season and the national Aiteo cup.
Rangers will be trading tackles with local side, Ingas, who earned a 3-2 semifinal win over NNL side, Giant Brillars in the final match of 2023 Enugu state FA Cup on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Rangers Training Pitch.
