NFF Pays Tribute To Titus Davis Okere, The ‘Last Of The Firsts’


The Nigeria Soccer Federation, NFF has paid tribute to the final member of the pioneering UK Vacationers to go away, Titus Davis Okere, whose stays have been interred at Bluebell Hill Crematorium in Kent, United Kingdom just a few days in the past.

We pray that Almighty God will grant him everlasting relaxation and grant his household and shut ones the fortitude to bear the loss.”
Swindon City FC, for which Okere performed 70 years in the past, did a shifting tribute to the departed participant. His contract with Swindon City in February 1953 made him the primary Nigeria footballer to signal an expert contract.
The UK Vacationers arrived in England on 29 August 1949. On arrival, an Englishman, John Finch was hooked up to them as coach. They performed barefooted and received two, drew two and misplaced 5 of their matches towards Marine Cosby, Bishop Auckland, Leystone FC, Isthmian League XI, Corinthians League XI, Dulwich Hamlet, South Liverpool, Bromley and Athenian League XI.
