NFF Launches CAF Coaching Programmes to Strengthen Coaching Capacity Across Nigeria

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to roll out comprehensive train-the-trainers initiatives with final arrangements completed for a CAF B-License refresher course scheduled from 20th – 24th June 2026, and a six-module CAF A-License course spanning 2nd August 2026 to 7th February 2027.

“This is part of the NFF’s strategic effort to enhance the capacity of coaches nationwide,” said NFF Technical Director, Coach Augustine Eguavoen. The development follows Nigeria’s recent readmission into the CAF A-License convention after a nine-year absence.

Interested candidates must:

Be active coaches at elite levels (National Teams, NPFL, NNL, NWFL, NLO)

Hold a CAF B diploma

Be proficient in reading and writing English

Have access to a laptop or tablet for the duration of the programme

Be computer-literate

Possess a medical certificate confirming physical and mental fitness

Submit a curriculum vitae and a reference letter

Upon successful completion of the CAF B Refresher course and pre-assessment tests, 25 candidates will receive access to the CAF CMS link to begin the CAF A-License programme.

CAF A-License fees: N3,000,000 for Nigerian coaches; $3,000 for foreign applicants.

CAF B Refresher fees: N700,000 per Nigerian coach.

The application deadline for the CAF A-License course is Sunday, 31st May 2026. Both the CAF B Refresher and CAF A pre-course assessments will be conducted virtually and in-person from 1st – 23rd June 2026.

The pre-course assessments will evaluate candidates’ abilities in:

Game analysis

Reading and writing

Presentation skills

Computer literacy

The CAF A-License course will be limited to 25 candidates, ensuring a focused and intensive learning experience for Nigeria’s top coaching talents.

This initiative underscores the NFF’s commitment to advancing coaching standards and building a stronger foundation for football development across all levels in Nigeria.
