Kehinde Akinwande: Nigeria defender reacts after sealing FK Apolonia switch

Nigeria defender, Kehinde Akinwande is delighted to have joined FK Apolonia from Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Robo Queens.

Akinwande had been unveiled by the Albanian Women’s National Championship giants after she signed a two-year deal with the topflight outfit this week.

The Nigeria international has described her move to Apolonia as a positive step in her career after craving for a new challenge for some years and is keen to learn and make a huge impact.

“My move to FK Apolonia is a right step at the right time for me because I’ve been craving for a new challenge elsewhere,” Akinwande told Nigeriafootball.ng exclusively.

“I’m super excited to sign for a club in Europe because I need to have a new experience in football and learn new things about football under a new atmosphere.”

The crunchy Super Falcons defender targets the league title at her new club and appreciated her former club, Robo Queens for their contribution to her career.

“My goal is to give my best for the team and help the team to win the (Albanian) league title and also achieve some milestones with Fk Apolonia,” she continued.

“Robo Queens made me who I am today. The team has a great impact in my footballing career.

“I was forged at the club into what people are seeing today. Thanks to the club’s chairman/Head Coach, coaching crew, my team mates and the super fans.”

Akinwande is in line to make her debut for third place Apolonia against Teuta on Sunday, November 12.
