Delta Queens head coach, Tosan Blankson believes the club is ready for the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership 2023/2024 season with the pool of talented players at their disposal, who are ready to showcase their talents.
The defending champions will be aiming to defend their crown when the season starts on Tuesday, November 14.
Blankson says club will be sticking to the same plans and objectives last term as he aims to defending the title won last season and ultimately qualifying for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
“Same plans, same objectives from where we stopped from 2022/23 season. The only difference is that we won’t disappoint achieving the sole ticket representing the zone,” Blankson told nigeriafootball.ng exclusively.
“It’s a template in Delta Queens, hard work, perseverance, dedication to duty and above all players welfare is key to our continuous success.
“Our target is to qualify the team from the group, and try to defend our title then qualify the team to the final of the Caf Women’s Champions League.
“Satisfied is understatement. We have pool of players in the Club that are looking for opportunities to showcase their talents.
“So when some left it’s a great opportunity for them now to play, but we should not remove the fact that experience counts, reason we went to the market and got what we really wanted as a replacement in a sensitive position and to crown it all we believe in God.”
Delta Queens will begin the defense of their NWFL Premiership title as they face newly promoted side, Ekiti Queens at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium on November 14.
