NPFL: Away point at Bendel Insurance excites Kwara United’s Kabiru Dogo
By Wale Mustapha
Technical Adviser of Kwara United, Kabiru Dogo has praised his boys for their resilience and improved display in their 2-2 draw against Insurance FC on Saturday.
The Harmony Boys surrendered a lead twice at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin as Sodiq Yusuf puts Kwara United in front in the 14th minute to the shock surprise of the home fans after he benefited from a long pass from Shola AbdulRaheem.
Stephen Sodje levelled up for Insurance with a thunder strike from outside the box after there was a mixed up in Kwara United’s vital area to end first half with one apiece.
Samuel Oshagbemi connected a pass from Shola AbdulRaheem again to net the second goal in the 64th minute but Ismail Serki struck at the death to force a stalemate.
And the former Lobi Stars manager felted that a victory would have been more appreciated but his team would consolidate on the performance in their subsequent games.
“I’m excited about the result, but I think we had a good chance to win it as you can see we played and were in control for long time,” Dogo told NigeriaFootball.ng.
“Its unfortunate to concede goal at that time, it was due to inexperience from the goalkeeper with time management.
“There’s a lot to be happy about though and we will work on it to do well in our other games.”
Kwara will be hosting Gombe United in Ilorin for their Matchday 10 fixture.
