Enugu Rangers’ goalkeeper, Lucky Abdullahi, is celebrating after securing a vital victory over Ikorodu City in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter on Wednesday.
The Flying Antelopes won the match 1-0, with captain Chinemerem Ugwueze netting the decisive goal.
Abdullahi, who made several crucial saves during the match, expressed that the win was especially meaningful following the team’s elimination from the CAF Champions League, stressing the squad’s determination and belief in their ability to retain the NPFL title.
“The victory over Ikorodu City meant a lot to us because we lost our continental game, and we came to Lagos to fight for the maximum points. I believe we have the capability of lifting the NPFL title once again this season,” Abdullahi stated in a post-match interview.
Rangers will next face Remo Stars in their upcoming NPFL fixture.
