The Abia State Government has commenced a comprehensive renovation of Enyimba International Stadium in Aba ahead of the 2025/2026 football season.
The refurbishment, nearing completion, includes the installation of new seating, improved roofing, and fresh exterior and interior painting.
A key upgrade is the installation of a 500kVA power plant, designed to provide uninterrupted electricity during matches and events.
According to officials, the project is part of a broader initiative to modernize sports infrastructure across the state.
Additional enhancements, expected to be completed in the coming weeks, aim to deliver a more comfortable and professional environment for players, officials, and spectators.
Enyimba International Stadium, home to eight-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions Enyimba FC, is one of the country’s most prominent football venues.
The state government says the project underscores its commitment to sports development and community engagement through improved public infrastructure.
