Abia Warriors secure victory over Lobi Stars

Abia Warriors claimed a dominant 2-0 win over Lobi Stars in their Matchday 31 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

The hosts were in control throughout the match, with Sunday Megwo and Anthony Ijoma scoring in each half to secure all three points for Abia Warriors.

Megwo opened the scoring in the 25th minute, heading in a precise pass from Paul Samson to notch his 10th goal of the season. Abia Warriors held onto their lead through the first half and continued to dictate play after the break.

Lobi Stars made several substitutions in an attempt to mount a comeback, but Abia Warriors’ defense remained resolute. The hosts sealed their victory with a stunning strike from Ijoma in the second minute of added time.

The midfielder launched a powerful shot from 33 yards out, finding the back of the net and putting the result beyond doubt.

The win lifts Abia Warriors as they prepare for their next fixture—a highly anticipated Oriental derby against Enyimba International FC at the Enyimba International Stadium.
